How Do I Meet People?

There are no strangers, only family members we have not met. Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our vibrant church family. Here is how you can learn, serve, and grow at this church.

Tuesday Bible Reading & Prayer
Tuesdays, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

A inter-denominational gathering of folks who simply want to read the Bible together and pray for one another.  Usually held under the tree on the church property along West Gainsborough Road.  Casual and inviting enough that even folks passing by on a walk or in a parked car, waiting in line as a recipient for a food box…. all can partake in sharing time enjoying the Word together.
Lunch ’n Learn Ministry

Join us every 3rd Sabbath right after the church service for a relaxed lunch and small-group discussion. Each month we focus on one Bible character, discovering their story, strengths, struggles, and what we can learn today. New character and fresh conversation every meeting. Come for the food, stay for the fellowship and spiritual growth. All ages welcome!
Small Group Ministry

Often, small groups of people are better able to interact and learn about a topic than larger groups are. For that reason, our church has small group Bible studies. The size of the group varies.  Some meet at the church, others in participants’ homes. There is a small group that is just right for you with members ready to welcome you!

Health and Nutrition Ministry

The Thousand Oaks Seventh-day Adventist Church is dedicated to help you achieve optimal health and wellness for your Body, Mind, and Spirit. We offer community health programs to continue the healing ministry of the Great Physician – Jesus Christ !

Children’s Ministry

From Cradle Roll to Earliteens, our church loves its children.  We consider children among our greatest joys and worthy investments! Step into the door of our Sabbath School classes and be transformed by the Bible-themed decor and lessons prayerfully created with your child in mind to help them grow in their understanding and love for the Lord.  Our teachers are carefully screened and trained.

Young Adults

If you’re college-age or early-career, you don’t have to navigate it alone. Our Young Adult group offers a welcoming space to build friendships, grow in faith, and process real-life questions together. Expect honest conversation, Bible engagement, and practical next steps for work, school, relationships, and calling. Come as you are; there’s a place for you.

TO SDA Seniors Ministry

At TOSDA, the fun has just begun! Whether you’re retired, running full speed, or somewhere in between, our seniors gather for refreshment, ministry, and meaningful connection. Join us for regular meetups, service projects, and uplifting conversations. We also host a mentoring ministry where seasoned believers walk alongside younger members to encourage growth in Christ. There’s a seat for you—come be refreshed and be a blessing.

Our Traditions at T.O. Church

A family of faith—gathering, serving, and celebrating together. Everyone is welcome.

At Thousand Oaks Church, we cherish traditions that draw us closer to Jesus and to one another. From shared meals to shared service, our calendar is stitched together with moments of connection—spaces where newcomers feel at home and longtime friends keep growing in grace. Come as you are; there’s room at the table for you.

Agape Feast & Communion (Bi-Annual: January & July)

A worshipful celebration of the Lord’s Supper designed to engage all the senses. We remember the Upper Room—Jesus breaking the bread and sharing the fruit of the vine as symbols of His love and sacrifice—through prayer, Scripture, music, and a shared meal. It’s a sacred family moment that centers our church in Christ’s grace.

“Serve the Sisters” (May)

Each May, our brothers host a festive luncheon to honor the women of our church family. This year’s 1950s diner theme brought aprons, checkered accents, and laughter—an afternoon of hospitality and heartfelt appreciation.

“Bless the Brothers” (June)

In June, our sisters return the kindness with a special luncheon for the men. This year’s theme, “Knights and Nobles of the King,” offered a Renaissance-style feast and joyful fellowship—another reminder that we build one another up in love.

Easter Sabbath Brunch

On Easter Sabbath (Saturday), we begin the morning with a full-service brunch—a gracious time to sit, savor, and connect as a church family before worship. Weather permitting, we’ll gather on the patio for fresh air and conversation, then transition to a worship service designed as a musical celebration of Jesus’ sacrifice and resurrection. It’s nourishment for both body and soul, and a beautiful way to experience the hope we share.

Cultural Celebration Sabbath (Sept or Oct)

Join us for our annual Cultural Celebration Sabbath each fall. Come dressed in attire that represents your heritage (or something festive), and bring a favorite dish to share at our potluck luncheon. It’s one of our most-loved meals of the year—everyone brings their very best! Expect vibrant worship, global flavors, and rich fellowship as we celebrate the unity we have in Christ.

Christmas Sabbath Brunch

On the Sabbath before Christmas, we gather for brunch together and then transition into the worship service. The service is crafted with special musical talent—choirs, ensembles, and instrumentalists—leading us in praise as we celebrate the birth of Christ. It’s a seamless flow from table to sanctuary, sharing joy and worship as one family.
